Culinary delights in the Štrigova area can be savored and experienced at Restaurant Terbotz and Kavana Orijent, both located along the Međimurje Wine Road.
Restaurant Terbotz
The renowned restaurant is the most compelling ambassador of traditional cuisine from Međimurje. The dishes they serve enrich life with flavor. You are, thus, presented with the unique tastes of Međimurje, be it seasonal and freshly made soups, meat and fish dishes, game, salads, creative side dishes, or delightful desserts. They are created with ingredients sourced from their own garden, orchard, estate, nearby forests, and the rivers Mura and Drava.
Seize the opportunity to sample
It's like you haven’t truly been to Upper Međimurje, especially the Štrigova region, if you haven’t tasted Međimurska gibanica layer cake, meso 'z tiblice (Cro. pork cuts in wooden tiblica), or cone-shaped turoš cheese. The food here is homemade, simple, and healthy. Sample also fresh cheese with sour cream, duck with buckwheat porridge, pumpkin seed oil, or even ice cream coated with pumpkin oil, and don't forget to pair premium wines with your dish.
Pušipel - the crown jewel of the wine country
Pušipel is the flagship wine of the Štrigova area and a premium-quality brand from the Međimurje region. Winemakers present it to the market labeled as Pušipel Classic and Pušipel Prestige, in the original Tokaj-style bottle. Pušipel Classic is a light, lively white wine, marked by subtle citrus and fruit aromas with graphite-mineral undertones. Pušipel Prestige, on the other hand, offers more mature and richer creations, with select attributes. Pušipel allows for a wide range of styles - from standard harvests to late harvests, special selections and even ice wine, when the perfect weather conditions have been met.

Visit the wineries along the Međimurje Wine Road
The well-marked and easily accessible Međimurje Wine Road welcomes you year-round with around thirty family-run wineries, in a relatively small area yet rich in experiences. In recent years, the region’s leading wineries have earned over a hundred awards and medals from the world’s most prestigious wine competitions, including Decanter and the International Wine Challenge (IWC).

The wineries that form the elite group of winemakers with the HORTUS CROATIAE label offer tastings and direct sales right at their doorstep. Home delivery is available to any given address. Wines from Međimurje can also be found in most wine shops and supermarkets across Croatia.
Urbanovo
Urbanovo is an international festival celebrating Pušipel and the wine scene in Međimurje. With an ever-growing number of visitors, it has become an authentic tradition over the last twenty years. It takes place annually in mid May in Štrigova. The festival offers a rich program featuring international wine evaluations, lively tastings and presentations, expert-led workshops, wine-themed quizzes, open cellar days, glamorous gourmet dinners, and concerts.
