Cycling

The Štrigova region is a special paradise for cyclists due to its well-maintained and clearly marked cycling trails, access routes, and paths with wonderful scenery along the way. The foothills of the vineyard-covered slopes are ideal for light family rides and casual cyclists. The steeper ascents through vineyards, hills, forests, and villages offer extraordinary views and provide an exciting challenge for speed lovers, athletes, and pro cyclists. The Cyclist Welcome network offers various dirt, gravel, and paved routes leading past bike-friendly accommodations, restaurants and coffee bars, and other facilities for cyclists. The Pušipel Trail, a circular trail winding through the landscapes of the Međimurje Wine Road, is a highly recommended route. Along the way, you can find charming wine tasting rooms, restaurants and coffee bars, local artisans, and picnic spots. The trail showcases the most beautiful areas in Upper Međimurje, with rich natural and cultural heritage. 53.9 km in length, it forms part of the international “Mura–Drava Bike” cycling trail and runs near Čakovec and the Sveti Martin Spa Resort.

Hiking

As the Roman generals used to say, only by marching forward can one truly discover and conquer. Even today, what moves us is curiosity and a desire to connect with local people and the land they call home. Walking through the fairytale landscapes of Štrigova and its vicinity is a simple activity, yet it brings immeasurable benefits to both body and soul. Cipelcug, the brilliant local expression for walking, is a great form of exercise for everyone, from children and youth to seniors. You set your own pace, pick a light or a challenging route, and chances are, you won’t be walking it alone no matter where you go.
